The Uvita Region

Welcome !

You've made it to the heart of Costa Rica.

Let us bring you on an expressive exploration into one of the most beautiful and rejuvenating places on the planet:

A paradise filled with a colorful array of flora and fauna, including dozens of varieties of brilliant hummingbirds and butterflies, where families of three-toed sloths, toucans and monkeys frequent the rainforest canopy.

Many are aware of the invigorating sense of well being that is felt when reconnecting with nature in Costa Rica. We now invite you to experience the power and tranquility of Uvita on Costa Rica’s south pacific coast, blending the adventures of a tropical paradise with the conveniences of a thriving beach town.

A breathtaking wall of primary rainforest defines the upper reaches of the region, a biodiverse and thriving natural gift enriching all nearby. All around the land one can appreciate how much the people living here love their lands and their community. Rich in both water and diversity, southern Costa Rica is one of the most supportive places on earth to live a more regenerative lifestyle.

Throughout the communities of Uvita, Ojochal, and Dominical there are many world-class waterfalls, magical places where the mountain springs birth rivers that flow down to the Pacific. Here the rivers are warm and lush, inviting either private explorations, or thrilling adventures whether canyoning, rafting, or tubing, and Dominical’s famous surf breaks await at the tropical beaches below.

The culture of the Costa Ricans whose families have been here for many generations is peaceful and kind, people who invite anyone who shares their appreciation for this natural paradise.

The area has attracted many pioneering expats, social entrepreneurs and organizations educating on sustainable solutions and regenerative lifestyles. There are several excellent farmers’ markets throughout the week, including the incredible Tinamastes market uniting a celebratory community of cultural creatives. Throughout Tinamastes, Dominical, Uvita and Ojochal there are dozens of organic farms, many artists, musicians, and incredible expert bodyworkers, all as likely to work as catch up with friends or join in song. ‘Community Days!’ is a free sharing economy event connecting the community, a great opportunity to make friends and find local partners and experts on a range of holistic living specialties.
